Kid graduated last night……..
Next step, ocean lifeguarding for summer. Then off to Taiwan for the academic year on a national security Chinese language/cultural immersion scholarship through US State Dept. Final college selection TBD but most likely Nuclear Engineering at Georgia Tech, UC Berkeley or US Naval Academy. Speech was appropriately on the “road less traveled.” So proud of this young man.

It sounds like he will have "the adventure of a lifetime" over the next four years...they he begins his next real life adventure!
Pretty sure he will be a huge success in whatever he does.

through the academic common market to get in state tuition, because Virginia has no similar major.

...enlisted nuke. After his enlistment was up, he went off to college where he finished 3rd in his class in Mechanical Engineering. He worked about a year in that field before going back to get his EE degree. I think he spent the rest of his working career with DOE.
