RIP Bobby Cox.
Two days ago when Ted Turner died I posted in a thread "Bobby doesn't have much time left, either." I didn't think it would be this soon, though. Geez. Tough week. Those two had more influence on my youth than anyone except my parents.

Totally underrated historic achievement. Those Braves teams should’ve won a couple more world championships.

...the early 90s Braves-Pirates rivalry earlier this evening, and my father in law looked up some information about the 1992 NLCS that stated Cox had called a team meeting before game 7 and encouraged his players to view that game like a 1-game "winner-take-all" series, with both teams coming in with a clean slate. Kind of spooky timing, as neither of us had any idea Bobby Cox had passed away today.
RIP, Bobby. Jim Leyland, I'd sleep with one eye open...we talked about you a fair amount, too...
