in the Peach orchards around the town (Perry, Ga) One prisoner upon his return to Germany became the CEO of a large German bank. In appreciation of his treatment in the camp he would return to the town on occasion and buy the town what they
needed at the time in infrastructure. (i.e. Fire Trucks, etc.)

The German army’s supply system was almost entirely horse drawn in WWII. This limited the advances that they could make with blitzkrieg tactics to not much more than how far a tank could go with the fuel it could carry onboard. In addition to the supply system, much of its artillery was horse drawn.

than German equivalents but quick to fabricate on existing factory lines and simple for GIs to repair who grew up on farms or were backyard mechanics with their pop growing up.

...slow as compared to the US because of the intricate details and machining required. They did adapt during WWII. For example, the MG34 was difficult to manufacture rapidly in huge numbers, so they changed the design to make the MG42 much easier and faster to produce.
