It's both adorable and sort of sad. They're just looking for fellowship and
human connection. They're probably empty nesters who simply don't have enough of that any more. They desire to use NextDoor not unlike how many of us have used TSL, quite honestly. Our neighborhood facebook group is similar. I think some use it as information only and some go rather off topic for discussion that's better suited outside of a neighborhood group.

I'm not sure how to summarize the best one I've seen on our Nextdoor page.
Basically someone's mom made a post, defending her son, and telling people to lay off. The son had a limo service, and was parking the limo in the street, and the neighbors were giving him heck about it. The post went on about how hard of a worker he was, etc. Later in the day, the mom actually posted from another account. Turns out the son had set up an account as his mom to make these posts. The real mom called him a dumbass, and told him he needed to find a place to park the limo because she didn't want it in front of the house any more. The follow up posts from everyone else were great. Unfortunately, the post was taken down before I could get screenshots. My summary isn't nearly as great as the reality. I will never drop Nextdoor because I'm hopeful something like that will happen again.
