Possible changes to the VTCC in light of ODU and Iran
With the attack on the ROTC program at ODU, I took the time to reach out to an old friend who is still in the Corps to see if anything was said by the VTCC leadership to the cadets.
He informed me that the Corps has had police at all formations and any event where the Corps is in uniform since the stuff with Iran started. Additionally, the freshman rats are now allowed to be off campus without a uniform because they don’t want them off campus in uniform to be a potential target. I am very curious to see how the Corps is going to operate since it looks like the shooter at ODU was looking for the ROTC class as his target. This could also change how Ring Dance goes in two weeks.

Let's say I hadn't really woke up yet, goofy smile on my face, nobody around...until there was someone around, a bunch of ROTC guys were lying low in camo and slowly got up. Whatever hypothetical war that was I would not have been the winner.

And who knows at this point if it's true. But allegedly, the bad guy in this case was disarmed by unarmed cadets and succumbed to the injuries he sustained while being disarmed.

and "held" the terrorist until police arrived...Sounds like they "held" him by continuously beating the life out of him. I had kind of hoped one of the students had a gun and shot his ass!

class and guessing they weren't carrying guns or anything, this makes sense.
PS was in class once at GMU guy I knew in the class and who I talked to a few times was a detective. Looked down and noticed he had a snubnose strapped around his ankle. ya never know.

the service. This was a Military Strategy course.
Wouldn’t surprise me if former military guys took him out.
Bet it wasn’t just some 18 year old college kid.

handguns on campus (I mean sure campus police) and/or in classrooms. Might argue they don't allow knives either although I carry one around myself. Went to a show in NYC forgot I had it and they had one of those screening things but it didn't go off.
i don't doubt they get lots of military related people.

Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, 36, stormed into a classroom inside ODU’s Constant Hall and asked if it was an ROTC class. When someone confirmed that it was, he launched the suspected terror attack, shooting the professor several times, law enforcement sources said.
A heroic ROTC cadet at the Virginia school jumped into action to prevent more carnage, stabbing Jalloh to death after the crazed suspect gunned down the class instructor, the sources said.
