What was the last US aircraft carrier that was built outside the state of Virginia? (note that I am referring to the giant fleet carriers with this question and not to the smaller carriers for helicopters or relatively few planes.)

Several of the Kitty Hawk class CVs were built in NY.

Talking about the nuclear propulsion setup which was completely unlike the Nimitz class CVNs.
It's island was different from every other CV/CVN ever built...lol

Carrier prior to the Enterprise. NN also built the last two conventional carriers, the America and JFK.

USS Constellation was built at New York Naval Shipyard, with its keel laid in 1957 and commissioned in 1961. It was a member of the Kitty Hawk class of carriers. All fourteen commissioned carriers and three more currently under construction since then have been built at Newport News Shipbuilding.
