You can go into any grocery store in Wisconsin and find a liquor section vastly superior to any VA ABC store in existence. A really nice story like Meijer will blow you away. Hell, you go can into Quik Trip and get liquor off the shelf. I have found one ABC in NOVA that sells Korbel brandy, which is literally the only acceptable brandy for a Wisconsin old fashioned, and since I no longer work in Chantilly, I'm screwed. I have not tried the online ordering thing. I guess I should.
Note that my son turned me into Screwball eggnog over Christmas. Not a big whiskey or eggnog fan, and while I love peanut butter, I usually don't like it with anything else. All I can say is whiskey, eggnog, and peanut butter is the alcoholic surprise I never knew I needed.

drive well worth the effort.
Those pesky cross country drives for booze are tough though.

TN package stores are privately owned and had about $1 [pint/fifth?] surcharge(?). A lot of liquor got trunked into TN. Like cigarettes that migrated from NC to VA.
