OK lounge, it is once again time for "Give me your appliance tips".
I didn't write it all down the last time we went thru this, so humor me. Right now, I am getting a maddening beep from my Whirlpool side by side. I've watched a million videos trying to figure out how to shut it up, to no avail. The fridge works pretty well otherwise, except that it freezes stuff in the top left corner of the fridge part. It has been doing that from day one, but I just deal with it. If I could just get it to shut up, my life would be fine again. But I'm pretty sure I am going to snap and take a hammer to it soon.
So give me your new fridge choices. And please include the "never again" brands (Is it Samsung here?). And if anyone wants to toss out any ideas on how to disable the beeping, that would be most awesome. Thanks.

but the door open sensor on my refrigerator went bad and it thought it was always open, thus giving a beeping sound every 15 seconds or so. I replaced that sensor and all good.

1 - Not Samsung.
2 - Don't get anything with an ice dispenser in the door of the refrigerator. Ice needs to be in the freezer, not the refrigerator. Trying to dispense ice from the refrigerator (as opposed to the freezer) is a completely unnecessary thermodynamic problem that is prone to failure.

owned, and that includes an >$9,000 Liebherr that was otherwise amazing. I moved to rural France five years ago where appliance repair techs don’t go, so we got a huge, beautiful Falcon by Rangemaster w/o a water dispenser or ice maker. It is the only refrigerator I have owned in my adult life that hasn’t had a single issue with frost, frozen vegetables, ice build up, etc. I just make ice in ice trays old school style.
