Question for VB folks
I have a friend who lives in the area who got kicked out of her apartment for inability to pay and has been staying in motels since, which she's having trouble affording as well. She is employed but is just behind the 8-ball right now. Does anyone know of any resources that might be helpful to her - government, aid agencies, churches, whatever? Thanks in advance.

Va Beach Housing Resource Center (link)
Given the details you've shared, I would suggest that she start with the phone number 757-385-5167 or walk-in at the location in the link below. Depending on her circumstances (income, etc.), that is the access point for the VB City government homeless assistance. If she doesn't qualify for their programs, they should have resource lists, etc. that may help cover immediate needs. I'd also suggest she do what she can to identify potential places to live. Housing location help is something that is not readily available in many places. If she's not in Virginia Beach proper, that number above should also be able to guide her to the appropriate point of contact depending on which locality she is in.

Great info. I would think VB has pretty significant resources due to large
transient population. And off-season resort needs. Nice referral.
