SpotHero in DC for weekend event at Convention Center - yay or nay?
Will be downtown for a volleyball tournament this weekend. Coach is talking up SpotHero, but I've never used it. It seems like it should work, but I'm concerned about communication between the app and the garage attendant. Thoughts?
Alternative would be to find a garage the old fashioned way, or worry about finding street parking and then the meter. The event is massive so parking near there is always an adventure.

And even if you do not need it as there is parking around, the nice thing is you put an address in your maps and you go there, flash the spot hero and roll in. I also find if you do it ahead of time it is often cheaper.

I used it to park for Belk Bowl in 2019...worked fine
except the result, of course

Definitely. I use it a lot
I believe there's a garage at City Center near there. Check that out -- it's very near shops and food as well.
A couple thoughts. First, make sure you know the open/close hours of the garage. If you get there late, you may not get out. Second, take a screen shot of your code (QR or bar, whatever it is, I can't remember) in case you can't get connected.

Last time we used SpotHero for a Caps game, we parked in the underground garage of a nice office building. I think we've even parked under the Reagan building using SpotHero. You just need to show the barcode or QRC to the attendant. Is this literally in DC?

garage you absolutely want to reserve a spot in. Otherwise, just drive around and find an open one that is most convenient for you.
