Car buying question...
I found the truck I want. They have a new '25 model here locally. It's a bit more than I'd like to pay. They do have a similar '24 model on the lot (that doesn't have all the bells and whistles)...They gave me an estimate and the '24 qualifies for quite a bit more discounts than the newer '25.
But...
I found the same truck (or close to it) in a '24 model that has all the bells and whistles at a different dealership in North Carolina. The price they have listed for the '24 there is the same as the '25 here. I'm wondering if I should approach my salesman about seeing if he could get that one here and I'd buy that (I'd assume he could give me the same incentives since it's a 24 model.)? Or do I just contact the place in NC and tell them about the deal I'm getting here and see if they can give me better?

A 2023 F150 Tremor. Even with flight, hotel, and gas driving home I saved about 16,000 off MRSP. If you aren't in a hurry, search the internet. Some deals to be had if you dont mind heading out of state.

Often and it wouldn’t be a problem.
I just wanted to see what my guy at shelor can do. We drove to Kernersville, NC to get my wife’s van, so that doesn’t bother me.

It's unlikely they will give you as good of a deal on a truck they have to
Bring in from another dealership as one sitting on their lot. There will be more negotiation room on a 2024 than a 2025 either way, and that's independent of options.

you are in the NRV and the '24 is in Mt Airy. Would it be so horrible to just drive to Mt Airy and buy the truck from that dealership instead of trying to haggle with Shelor and pay the freight?
I've driven to NC to buy a car before.

That crap will all break just after the warranty ends, and you will be pissed. The more electronics, the more stuff to go wrong, and the more expensive it will be to repair.

Can also get a few Ford trims with a V8 as well

I know two people who have had to replace the transmission in their 2017 or newer GM/Chevy half ton truck before they hit 75,000 miles. I would definitely not purchase a modern GM half ton truck.

Had around 92k miles when I traded it.
I’ve got a Ram right now, but I’ll certainly look at the GMC AT4 next go round as I think that’s the best looking truck out right now.
I’ve been very lucky I guess, have never really had any major mechanical issues on any vehicle I’ve owned and that includes all kinds of makes.

this is the local one. '25 model. They say they'll sell it for about $60,000.

told me there were more eligible discounts on the 24s since they wanted to get them off the lot for the 25s coming in.
He was able to get about 10 grand off the 24 model msrp, but only about 5 grand off the 25 model. The 24 model had a $6,000 rebate (off of the listed price of $58,000) but the 25 model only had a $2500 rebate (off the listed price of $66,000).
