Drive to Savannah and Tybee Island. Eat at the Cotton Gin on the Riverfront and if you have room head to Savannah Candy Company. The smell alone might give you diabetes 😀

I've heard great things about Hunting Island State Park about 15 minutes outside of Beaufort, but I've never actually been there. We drove there while stopping through Beaufort last August to check it out, but didn't think about the park entry fee (I think a day pass is $8/person), and since we only had a few minutes to kill, we did not actually go inside the park.

Rent bikes for the beach. The sand is amazing. Golf Go to Sea Pines, check out the lighthouse and boats in the marina, including the America's Cup winning Starts and Stripes! From there take a 9am cruise to Daufuskie Island, see the school house were the great American author Pat Conroy taught and later wrote a book called "The Water is Wide", which was made into the movie "Conrack", starring a Young Jon Voight, in my opinion his best role ever. Then visit the practically deserted public beach there and walk south to Bloody Point, an amazing confluence of the Atlantic and the river system. Return to Sea Pines and head directly to the Salty Dog, only 10 minutes away, for a late lunch. Kayak the river and marsh system that cuts through the island. Eat at Old Oyster Factory Hike the Pickney Wildlife Refuge, the only refuge island there that humans may visit. I'm going there tomorrow.
