Come on, we all had "rituals" that ended up with pledges lined up puking

yes, the risk is there, and the stories make good news copy. But, if you look at the number of kids that die or are seriously injured from frat hazing compared to all the other stupid crap college kids die from, I bet it's pretty low. Local bars are a bigger risk in most college towns than frat hazing. The difference is, frats are an easy target, entitled college kids behaving badly make a great story, especially for more entitled journalism majors who are living on apple jacks.
