A lot of people are buying I Bonds right now, which might be a pretty good

deal. You buy them from the government and their interest rate is pegged to inflation. They're set to earn a 9.6% annualized rate through October, at which point they'll set a new rate based on whatever inflation is then. You have to hold them for a year before you can sell them and if you sell them before 5 years, you forfeit the last 3 months of interest. But that's still a good deal for a risk free asset at the moment. Say they set the new rate as 5% in October. You'd get 9.6% for 6 months and 5% for six months, for an average of about 7.3%. Deduct 3 months of interest and you're at just under 5.5% for a risk free asset. You can buy a max of $10,000 per person per year, so if you're married, y'all could by $20,000.

It may not be what you're looking for, but I thought I'd mention it because a lot of people are interested in it right now.
