I've been having fun watching Nvidia's stock price.

The vast majority of my retirement holdings are in index funds, but I do have some money for investing in individual stocks. I usually make mistakes with this money (haha), but nothing major. On Dec. 29th, I decided to buy some Nvidia stock, and I put $7k into it at $500 a share ... so 14 shares. It had a big run-up in 2023, but the average target price for 2024 among gurus was $675, so I figured what the hell. By Feb. 9th, the share price had shot up to $717, and my investment was up to $10,000, so I sold off 4 shares, about $2,800 worth, to take the profits out. Is that advisable? I don't know, I don't care, I just felt good about taking my $3k profit and locking it in. So at that point, I had 10 shares at $717. The share price started to languish, and yesterday, it even dropped down to $674. Then they reported after hours, blew away estimates, and the stock is smoking hot today, up $100 at $774 (close to 15%). This is the first time I have ever put money into an individual stock that really took off in the short term, so it has been fun to watch (even though it's a very small part of my overall holdings in my retirement account). At this point, I think I'll just hold onto the 10 shares and have fun watching it. If it gets to $1,000 a share, I might sell it and call it a day. On the downside, maybe if it drops to $600, I'll sell and call it a day. But I'm willing to listen to advice on that from those of you who are more sophisticated investors than I am.
