Traffic. Christiansburg at Staunton River... About an hour drive, I saw there was a back up due to a wreck so I left as soon as possible. Went up 460 instead of 81, which of course many others were doing. Suddenly google maps told me the 12 minute delay went to 36. Not a big deal, I'd just miss the 1st quarter. Drove past the Dixie Caverns exit and laughed at the mile long line of cars trying to get ON 81 in BOTH directions... Idiots! Get a mile down the road and come to a complete stop... Only to find they are making everyone turn around and go back... 460 was closed due to a wreck.... So I turn around and get in that line that I made fun of earlier to get on 81. At that point my 6:00 arrival time had turned into 6:40. So I called my daughter to tell her I wouldn't be able to make it and I headed home. I HATE I81. I'm not joking when I say 4 out of the last 5 times I've gone to Roanoke and north, there has been a wreck leading to an hour + delay.
