smaller regionals are in so much trouble

The OCC is really clamping down on any bank that was a sponsor bank in the fintech industry. This was good income streams for a lot of those banks(Meta Bank ,Evolve, etc) and they are really getting the rug pulled from them. The industry could have really done itself a favor and let many of the 100s of fintech companies get banking charters, as there is a lot of innovation there but the OCC wanted nothing to do with them. I spent a lot of time writing ILC and OCC charter applications for two of them and both where declined while not being declined. You never heard no, but you never heard yes. Anyway, fintech and regional banks--> complete carnage
