In our school…..

AP and Honors classes are all scored on an 5.0 basis except that there is only 1 weighted grade honors class allowed per subject area. For example, my son took Honors English in 9th and 10th Grade. Got As in both. One counted as an 4.0 and one as a 5.0. All Dual Enrollment classes are counted on a 4 pt basis. So there is no GPA inflationary incentive to take DE classes. My son took six HS classes per semester plus cross country in fall and track in spring. There really is no gaming the system at our school. It’s taking a bunch of hard classes. Last year for example he took, AP Eng Lit, AP Chem, AP Physics, AP Calculus AB, AP Chinese and AP US History. Plus he had Varsity CC/Track. He was busy.

I would say “diverse”….He could be an elite cyclist but doesn’t pursue it. **
