That's the thing...I don't know.

I've never studied any companies before, outside of my own. I do believe there's a very strong possibility that the stock will rise to $55-60, somewhere in there. But beyond that, I really don't know, because I've never studied companies before. "Yandex was founded by Arkady Volozh and launched its first product, a search engine, in 1997. Due to its significant media activities in Russia, the company has long faced pressure for control by the government of Russia. In July 2024, in a transaction brought about by international sanctions during the Russian invasion of Ukraine and restrictions on foreign ownership, Nebius Group, the Dutch holding company that owned Yandex, sold its Russian assets to a group of Russian investors for a discounted price of US$5.3 billion." Yandex is the Russian Google. Started out as a search engine in 1997, and blew up into something a lot bigger. So basically Nebius is run by the same people who built a $30 billion company (it sold for pennies on the dollar due to politics). The guy who started Yandex is the CEO of Nebius. He owns a 13% stake in Nebius, so he's invested (probably heavier than most CEOs). Nebius currently has a net worth of $9.82 billion. So this guy has a history of turning a small company that he created into a big one. And he didn't exactly start Nebius from scratch...it's basically the same team he had before, except they all work for the holding company now. Nebius wasn't publicly traded until this past October. Their name is off the radar because of that, but the team behind them has a positive history. So I feel confident that it will continue to rise. It's up again in pre-market trading this morning. But as somebody with no experience in studying companies, I was hoping somebody else in the stock market had heard of this specific company and could offer some advice.

There is a Russian component to this story?
HokieAl 02/17/25 03:21 PM ET
Yes, it is heavily tied in to AI, so it crashed with NVIDIA
