First, ignore any price targets or articles
Those targets and articles are all either paid for, biased, designed to lure in retail investors (us little people), or designed to protect large money (hedge funds, banks, etc.). Don't get married to a stock either, especially if someone else is telling you to be interested in it. Always be willing to make up your own mind and be willing to admit if you picked wrong and need to move on. The market is absolutely manipulated and you have to remind yourself that you are swimming with sharks and whales that don't care about you.
Second, be realistic. A 40% gain in any stock is fantastic. Especially if it is just in one month. Just think about all the people who were up big with Gamestop and got greedy and watched all their gains disappear when it dropped. If your portfolio goes up 10% each year then you are doing just fine. So don't go thinking that 40% gains are normal and expected every time. And don't assume that stocks only go up.
Third take profits. The point of playing the market as you stated is to make money. So take the money when you have it. Otherwise you are just gambling. Treat the money seriously and not as play money or just numbers on the screen. Worst case, maybe you miss out on some profits, but you can always buy back in. Best case is it drops after you sell and you can either buy back in for cheaper or just move on to another stock. If you are worried about missing out, you could always buy some call options so that you still have a wager on them going up.
Fourth, you have to keep at least a small awareness of the larger market. You could have the best stock, but if the entire market crashes because of some bad event, you will still lose money. And right now things are very volatile due to global trade politics.
Good luck.
