a number of times but never saw anything unique outside of a declaration form they hand out when flying into the country. My guess is that the worst case is they give you a non-e ticket version before you land lol Have fun! You might want to check out Belize sometime as well. Both places are great- Belize has a wider variety of experiences imo (half jungle, half mountain, 3/8ths beaches and another 2/7ths jaguar preserves). Jungle half like Guatemala and beach half like Jamaica.
