He still does a bunch of work to support service members. He also is driven way more by winning than money. Livvy still earns more than he does and he is doing just fine. He has said repeatedly that the challenge of bringing a championship to Pittsburgh (I'll pause for the laughing to subside ...) is something he embraces. He helped recruit Ryan O'Hearn, Gregory Soto, and Marcell Ozuna to Pittsburgh. He and Livvy both love Pittsburgh. However, I think there is less than a 1% chance he signs a long term deal with the Pirates. They can't come close to what he will get on the open market in the winter of 2029. So they have 4 seasons to make a deep run. And by the way, they have more good pitching and hitting on the way - just need to find a 3B.
