It was an outright gift, no strings attached. Having read through all the

comments here, I'm pretty much over it. As I said in the original post, the money would eventually have gone to the family via my son as an inheritance. If anyone was shorted by it, it's Virginai Tech, as we are Legacy Society members as well as Ut Prosim Society members. One of the great days we have every year is receiving the letter from the recipient of the scholarship that we have endowed.
