We have prescribed burns here in Nor Cal. I would presume Cal Fire
Does that in SoCal but maybe not so much in these urban area mountains/hills. When I lived near the Hollywood Hills I don’t recall seeing this. Maybe too close to neighborhoods.

I lived in So Cal for 35 years, Never saw anything as bad as these fires.
