We have them periodically in the crawl space, evidence via snake skin.

If they don’t come into the living areas, keep the mice and venomous snakes away, and aren’t aggressive, they can stay there and in the yard. I’ve had a few black snakes in the yard where someone must have pissed in their morning coffee because they were ready to fight for whatever reason.
