'Next Gen' effort to modernize all ATC systems. Fortunately (in hindsight) our team did not win the proposal because the entire effort fell flat (just like the last several attempts to modernize the IRS). I like what I am hearing regarding the new effort though - they plan to get complete involvement and assistance from all of the major airlines rather than have the government and contractors try to do it on their own. Even with that, I agree that 3-4 years is a pipe dream but I think things have finally reached a point where delays and failures are no longer an option. Hopefully by 2032 we have a better system in place across most airports. What I don't understand is how we just passed an infrastructure bill of over $1 trillion and apparently none of it was earmarked to address this problem.
