The two that were lost were less than committed (Demarcus Brown 89 comp and Sean Currie 89 comp). The remaining 5 (comps 85-87) will be that much more committed and more susceptible to his coaching them up for the 2026 season, err, the 2027 season.
Then, after the 2026 season, the transfer gravy train will open up, blessedly, again.

I don't think their strategy of relying on the transfer portal is sound. They did well last year, but Morris was the difference maker IMO. It's like they aren't even trying. I'd be nervous about this strategy if Franklin and his staff were treating recruiting as optional. You really don't even know what's going to be available to you in the transfer portal.

Rather, recruiting ineptitude. They got a program changer by renting Chad Morris….despite themselves. Those days are gone with the reversion to mean level of their 2026 classes of HS recruits and 2026 transfer class (combined ranking #85 per below link). With Brown flipping and Currie gone, their 2027 class looks like the old days….#52. Maybe there’s a wabbit in dat hat with da plume on it and the guy in tights wearing it.
