"Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!" Soprano fans

should recognize the quote. Gangsters and Academics today, how thin the line between?

Good bet that most know playing at the next level is

not going to happen so better learn employable skills. Wish every kid had that thought pattern. Unless you are a Bonafide can't miss product, even playing a few years in the pros does not provide enough income to last a typical lifetime.

So....opposites day? Hokies will now burn couches and visiting fan

experience in M town will now be respectable and devoid of thrown batteries!!!!!!!

Bodes well for his ACC stint. Would expect VT to be at 9 wins minimum in a

couple of years. The ACC is not murderers row compared to the B10. I see opportunities to play and win multiple ACC titles in the near future!!!!

NYC will explode if they win the title! All the band wagon fans are coming

out of the woodwork! I fully anticipate a Super Bowl worthy celebration in the Big Apple!!!!!!

Kinda telling that a SEC team brags about stealing a recruit from VT?

Bizzaro world? No its the Franklin effect. JF has such a media presence that out recruiting VT is now news! No idea if this will continue in the future but if Franklin gets VT back into the top 20 consistently (I'm hoping much higher but being conservative), VT will once again become a "hated" team. Back in Beamer's heyday, plenty of teams compared themselves to VT as a benchmark. Can't wait until that happens again!

Your thoughts on the lack of LBs on that list?

Do we feel we have already have enough LBs or is their a plan to develop and move some of these incoming safetys or WRs? Is LB that tough of a position to find for 4 * talent?

UCLA is a powerhouse but some decisions helped them out I believe

You just do not see back to back homers off the same pitcher often. I did not get to watch the game but have to wonder if the coach could have made a different move to slow the Bruins momentum. Obviously there is a pitching talent deficit but maybe I expect too much for this level of baseball?

Would not be surprised to see UCLA win this region now. They got their mojo

back at the Hokies expense! Oh well, sometimes you are the windshield and other times the bug!!!!!

2 run cushion going into the 9th, thought VT had it won!

Never would have predicted giving up 2 homers. This baseball team gave it their all but it was not enough when playing the nation's #1 team on their home field. Good season but a "holy cow" last inning! VT sports is snakebit when on the big stage. On to football I guess! Maybe Franklin can get the football team to finish on an upswing this year.

Don't understand your point in reference to VT?

Looking at the last 5 years (outside of Indiana), the top NC contenders were loaded with these highly ranked recruits. Are the rankings perfect....obviously not but your chances of competing with top notch teams depends a lot on your talent base. Coaching matters but you really can't coach height and speed. As mentioned earlier, the Hoosiers are a true outlier. A team comprised of lower rated star players solidly whipping teams with higher rated athletes is extremely rare! In this case, a coach found a way to get his collection of players to play high level almost entire games. Motivation is also a big factor in performance. However, Indy now is doing everything they can to attract as many highly ranked HS studs as they can get. Why?.... Because stars matter and to repeat as NC champs is going to take talent. For VT, the last time we were truly competitive was when Beamer convinced enough high rated HS talent to become Hokies. Coach Franklin is duplicating (and might just exceed) Beamers success at landing talent. I would much rather load up on 4 star athletes than lower rated 2 and 3 stars. They all need to be coached up but based on what I see, VT will have a much better chance at being above average very soon.

Better watch out Culpeper. The "my way or highway crowd" is juiced up!

Some of these people seem to believe that their point of view and opinion is always right. It is still a two party system for now.

Also claimed to have an OSU offer! Committable (who knows?) Just glad to

have him want to be a Hokie!!!!!!! ** Edited by TOUGH TURKEY at 5/27/2026, 9:02:20 AM

Wonder if Ayanbile is in play or just visiting to placate his parents?

If he loves the U so much, you would have thought he would have cancelled. Maybe he will be a no-show.

Just a couple of years ago you would have been laughed for referencing

Indianna to anything big boy football related. Just shows with the right coach and backing, going from the bottom to the top is possible. ** Edited by TOUGH TURKEY at 5/8/2026, 1:36:36 PM

Just read where Buzz has the #1 rated incoming class

in the nation. Buzz continues his outhouse to penthouse recruiting but how long before he gets run out of Twerp town?

Disagree. Too much daylight between the players

Of course the ref was behind the play on the call. This ref crew is out of position a lot.

VT’s body language down the stretch reeks of fear!

Guys walking around with their heads down. CMY gotta get this corrected if the Hokies are going to beat some of the better teams

Neo showing some bounce tonight! Good to see

He looks engaged and almost showed a little emotion. Really think if he plays with a little more aggression, his game will improve.

Welp! 2nd half has to be better! Can’t get much worse

Sometimes a team just has an off game. I suspect VT will play better in the second half but after spotting them 15 points, climbing out of this hole is a tall task.

Kid is playing great for a freshman. If he could just

Improve his jumping ability in the offseason. He would a force under the basket. Amazing he scores so much now with almost no lift off the floor.
