Homecoming is an huge University event, it is always October. locked by the university and athletics. Every dept and class have scheduled already huge events that week for homecoming and networking. The game is the entertainment with the pagentry. Also, once VT OOC games are set, ACC basically has our open dates to schedule games. We have some input not much. The guaranteed UVA game is the last game, after that VT is concerned about the logistics of cross country. Sooo it is what it is. Also, GT is a shell of what they had last year, good competitive team, but lost most of their staff, and many veterans left. IT would be fine. Also, no one knows what VT will bring......completely new offensive approach, with transformed team. Could be a special game

Just being snarky, 'yes athletics is very important to the university.

GT lost their great QB, and several of their top players exited. We even hired away one of their coaches. We aren't going to roll them, but beating GT should be within our grasp this season. It should be a good game.
