Despite this season, every VT and UVA fan knows how this last game will go
The UVA fans are rightfully celebrating a great season and are expecting a win. But in the back of their minds, every single one of them, they have a fear. There is a worry that VT will somehow find a way to win yet again. Or that UVA will find a way to lose yet again.
They hope it doesn’t happen, but they can’t shake that bit of doubt. And the doubt, the fear, it’s dug in deep after 25 years of being disappointed. 4 straight. 19 of the past 20. 23 of the past 25.
Yes they very much want to win, but the unease and worry and fear is unavoidable. And at the end of the day, the Hoo and VT fans at home and in the stands and on Tuten hill all know that a Hokie win is inevitable.

Sure, it could go like it did in 2019. But after all of our suffering the last 25 years, I'm not sure too many of us assume victory in a sure thing.

we put surprising numbers against FSU and Miami - not the ones that matter in the end of course - but some hard, gut checking football. We are often our own worst enemy - key penalties at the worst moments. Yet the last few games, i feel a tremor in the Force...
Here's to a good game where both teams lay it on the line, no one gets hurt and the Hokies finally put it all together for Monty's last game.
