Seeing a lot of chatter about hiring the coach before the GM and I really
do not understand why anyone would want it the other way. If we hire a GM before the coach then it could really limit who wants to come in and coach here. We need the coach and then to find a GM that will work well with him. That makes the most sense.

to? You should hire top down (AD then GM, then coach), not bottom up. The AD needs to be involved with hiring the GM and the GM (and AD) needs to be involved in the hiring of the new coach.

It has been said repeatedly that interested parties are not keen on the idea of having a gm already in place. The coach will come because he has say on who the GM will be.
