Would you believe Pry if you played at VT??? What about parents?
Think about All the hype coming into 2024: Returning players, strong finish in 2023, etc.…at this point, would you believe the guy (Pry) given all that has gone down this season?..
he just doesn’t inspire confidence gents, and as much as I love VT (which makes it even worse), I can’t see how anyone in the locker room would believe anything that comes from his mouth? He coaches scared, doesn’t trust his players in key moments, which may explain the whole 1-12 thing in close games.
also, I saw an O that looks like it has checked out….the D played their balls off, but here’s the problem: you can’t count on either the O or D to play consistently, week in and week out….so, at the end of the day, there’s no real reason to believe what the coaching staff utters from week to week.
finally, what I saw in Drones today was a mentally ‘check out, defeated and confused QB….hes not only failed to get better in 2024, he has COMPLETELY regressed. Now, I can’t tell if this is one of those ‘square peg, round hole’ offensive strategy misalignments, etc. but he CLEARLY LOOKS MENTALLY LOST in his ability to execute what’s being attempted….i don’t know if he would benefit from a full time QB coach, but he’s not the same kid from last season….which gets back to my original point; I dont believe for 1 iota these kids are being mentally and physically (psychologically) prepared for these games, especiall, big ones. Drones is EXAMPLE A in the missed expectations, misaligned strategy, and an overall, downright confused season. I place todays result right at the doorstep of Brent Pry…
seriosuly guys, c’mon!!!! We can do better than this….what a turd of a season this has turned out to be.

call a time out and throw the bomb and maybe something good will happen. Maybe the receiver makes a catch and runs for a TD or maybe you get a interference call and you get another try. But NO, Pry gives the team no chance, just like at the end of regulation last week when he quit on the team. Time for a change.

A major problem. He’s fairly incompetent as OC, but honestly, what the hell does he know about quarterback play? He was an offensive lineman in college, had some random assignments as an assistant in college, coached the tight ends for the Jaguars, and now he’s magically a QB coach?
This made little sense when they announced it and it makes even less sense now. No wonder Drones looks lost. He’s not getting quality coaching, for one thing. Might explain why he looks checked out. Maybe he’s finally just gotten fed up with it.

polished passer. He wasn't in high school. He wasn't at Baylor. He trained in the offseason with a QB coach that coaches Sanders and Ward. So he's had plenty of coaching outside of Bowen. At what point do you just accept that he has limitations to his game that aren't going to be coached out?

He’s just not that great to begin with, and if he was going to get coached up as a QB, that wasn’t going to happen at VT.

It’s brings up a good point. How do you coach a QB when you never played the position and you never coached the position prior to.
We have become a flagship program for “on the job training”.
