We are in an era of opt outs for bowl games justified
by "why risk injury in a meaningless game?" Is the next step in that direction players with options on a team no better than we were in 2024 opting out in season?

Of playoff or even bowl game contention? One could argue those regular season games are equally meaning less. Personally not a fan of players opting out period but I get why they do it

Worse yet, why don't they opt out when their draft stock reaches its
desirable level, even if your "team" IS still in contention?
You know, like when Kiper and McShay are arguing about whether you are mid-first rounder or an early second rounder. You might say "Hey, being a second rounder is good enough money for me, I think I will tap out here in late September and go get fit for the combine."
I am being a bit factitious here, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone starts pulling this soon.

redshirt year.
South Carolina player said after game 4 that he was going to redshirt, but wanted room, board, training, etc.
Lil beamer told him to pound sand.
