I think the sec moves to solidify the south and penetrate the mid Atlantic (which technically is south historically), each league between 20 and 24 teams ND likely to b10. You’d end up with conference playoffs for a conference champ and then a single game natty like a super bowl between the two leagues. The scraps along with the group of five form a D1 playoff that’s separate. If the sec wants to go Big Dick and really check mate they add vt ncst clem fsu and get to 20. Those 4 have the fan bases and potential to compete. You let the wine and cheese Publics along with the privates form a group of 5 level league to contend in new D1 playoff I already mentioned. Same goes with p12 and b12 scraps.

While Tech, NCST, Clemson and FSU fit the SEC both culturally and geographically, adding any or all of them would not be accretive to the overall conference, ie they most likely decrease the payout per team (assuming pro rata share of revenue) so would be dilutive overall. The way things are going, with the massive gap in revenue (media and NIL) at SEC vs ACC schools, the on-field gap between the leagues in football will continue to widen and the ACC schools will struggle to be relevant nationally. Clemson, the ACC flagship, will drop signficantly once Dabo leaves (likely within next year or two given his very public unease with the direction of college football) with Shane-led resurgent South Carolina, as well as Georgia, Tennessee etc quickly taking more shelf space in the Carolinas. Similary with FSU, they will find it increasingly hard to succesfully recruit and rebuild when their footprint is surrounded by SEC heavyweights will much bigger wallets (assuming Napier gets Florida turned around). For Tech and NCST, it would be like adding hybrids of Missisippi State and Auburn, awesome fan support, but dont move the needle financially in a conference already chock full of national brands. Only mention UNC because of the historic uniqueness of their brand (Nike/Jordan), national prominence of virtually all of their sports (just start with hyping new Kentucky-UNC basketball rivarly !), and on the margin, a better academic/institutional reputation than most of the league (the academic scandal from a few years ago aside!) Not a great time to be an ACC fan

If that's the case then what's left would basically be a few teams like Stanford or Colorado that are close to the same level of most ACC teams that would be available. So I guess it now becomes B10 preference. The fact it is financially easier for PAC teams currently to jump hurts potential ACC teams. B10 would probably want a Southern presence, I'm just not sure which ACC teams would fit the best. UNC seems to be a SEC and Big 10 possibility. They could go either way. May be packaged with Clemson to SEC. I would have to believe Clemson and Florida St are more aligned with SEC. Not sure if Florida St is high on SEC list. So that would leave who? Miami and/or UVA to B10? I don't see Tech high B10 wish list... Maybe potential to get swept into SEC.

As bout 90 teams are going to be screwed. College football and college sports are being destroyed. Oh well it was fun while I was alive

It will be easier for them to first grab Oregon Washington Stanford and California or Colorado. After that I doubt they will need or want that many ACC teams.

The B1X just crushed the P12 worse than the SEC did the Big 12. Who's the B2 good guy here? (The P5 is dead. B2 represents the "big conferences"...guess we could call it the M2 for "mega" conferences?)

contracts sake AND to go toe-to-toe with the SEC, then the B1G is going to want to expand through Virginia, NC, SC, into GA and finally FL. The west could be a dogfight what with the SEC now anchored in TX and OK: Colorado, Arizona and finally CA, OR and Washington could be in play as the SEC and B1G divvy up the schools in this scenario. But if the SEC's end game west doesn't simply end with TX and OK, then the B1G is going to need to fight on 2 fronts; the western AND the southern.
