Well, since you brought it up ...

Assuming that VT Admissions rejected him academically (which is the rumor) ... If you're James Franklin, how do you feel about that? VT hires you with a promise that they have complete alignment from top to bottom to support football, and a month later, Admissions rejects one of your most important transfers. Yeah, yeah, academic standards, student-athletes, blah-blah-blah. I've got a different viewpoint. Tim Sands himself should have picked up the phone, called Admissions and said, "Hi, this is Tim Sands. The Baylor transfer? Let him in. Bye." (click) It's one football player, in a university of 32,000 students. He already spent a year as a student at another university. It's not like he's Chris Washburn. Let him in. I'll bet this post makes some folks at VT mad. And some message board posters. But is VT serious about winning at football, or not? It's not like he committed a violent crime or, in the words of Bobby Bowden, shot the president.
