Current state is insanity is not sustainable for most fans, IMO

This whole NIL in its current state is insane. If we are to have a professional team, make these kids sign a contract with terms and conditions, they get a game check after every game. They leave early, they don’t get paid or have to comply with some type of buyout clause. Include ethics clauses that reduce payout or fines if they do something stupid. Like any other business cash in must equal cash out or cuts need to be made. Include pay for performance or incentives for certain milestones. There needs to be at least some kind of salary cap imposed to at least partially level the playing field. Otherwise, these kids will have no idea what it will be like post college NIL or pros. The rest of the world does not work this way, they will not have the necessary values or life skills to exceed in life beyond football. NIL and particularly collectives are nothing more than expensive entitlements. I just cannot wrap my head around this insanity, no matter how much I would like us return to better times.

Sad reality, there will never be another Vick
Screenwriter 12/12/24 12:31 PM ET
Even sadder thing is, Vick wasn't at VT long**

Even in today's environment, we would have had 1999 with Vick...

Don't think so

We need the player to be the son of a VT Coach...might keep him then**

That's been the case for a few years

Still don't understand how the courts could say that

As I understand it

My post was looking at the issue from both sides (employer and employee).

Now that college athletics lives in a NIL world, it may qualify under

That is why I propose bringing back the transfer rule

It may be too late to try to put the genie back in the bottle. Hence why I

These fans will fade away, get other interests, just like business

There is zero incentive for individual players to do any of that. That's..

Can be done again. Boise landed Jeanty. We'd have for at least a year**
vtlee 12/12/24 12:38 PM ET
Are you saying that Jeanty is not Boise State's version of MV1? If so,
VTHokie2000 12/12/24 12:45 PM ET
I used Jeanty as an example of another MV1 moment**
vtlee 12/12/24 12:46 PM ET
I get that, but the "can be done again" makes it sound like it can happen
VTHokie2000 12/12/24 12:53 PM ET
What about Kellen Moore?
Llywen 12/12/24 01:52 PM ET
He was a great player for them. If were are only comparing the greats,

that one season is all we really needed him**
