Pretty annoying to watch teams going hard in the NIT tonight
Knowing that we just slinked away and opted out. These teams clearly want to be there and the games have been really entertaining. The arenas aren’t packed full but the fans who are there are loud and into it. ESPN is doing a good job of covering the action. Such a shame VT would have been competing in this tournament and just turned tail and ran. It’s a very bad look. This is a generalization but what it says about Virginia Tech’s sports competitiveness: we don’t care, are scared, flee at slight adversity, and don’t really want to work to win anything. Never thought I’d see those sorts of negative qualities attributed to Virginia Tech, traditionally known as blue collar hard working tough guys, and yet… here we are. It’s sad.

Does anybody remember who won the NCAA last year? How about
3 years ago? 5 years ago? I would have had to look it up. I do remember we won the NIT several times before though. ** Edited by Italian Stallion at 3/18/2026, 11:31:40 AM

Not me. I'd have to rack my brain to recall SB and NCAA FB champs, lol. If
my teams aren't involved those events just come and go.
