@David Cunningham What are your thoughts on VT announcing they'll
decline an invitation to the NIT tourney? Any news on CMY getting a new contract? Thanks

that the athletic department was getting things together with the expectation that VT was going to host, so I think it surprised even some people internally. (Personally, I think it's kind of soft. I know when I was playing sports that I never wanted my season to end because you never knew when you'd get the chance to play with the same group again.)
Spoke to someone again today about the extension stuff and nothing has changed, continue to hear that it has happened/is happening.

My guess is the players voted they didn't want to participate.

This is a business decision for the players and should not surprise anyone.

dept figures, with travel costs rapidly going up it will be too expensive for very little return.

Can’t realistically play a game w just 5 guys, some of whom are bench players.

it would make sense not to play. Someone like Jones, who you might accept a bid for, in part, so he could get a chance to more practice & maybe some PT, is in a boot. And who knows about someone like Pasha, who's probably ready to find another home. I'm guessing entirely, so don't start shaking down those guys, but it wouldn't take many for playing in the NIT to be untenable
