The GM for basketball (recruiting?) left at the beginning of the season,
which indicated underlying issues. Did we get a new GM in his place? I hope this issue is resolved. So we have a plan in place to address to help target future players, outside the coaching staff. ** Edited by JM397 at 3/11/2026, 7:39:43 AM

The GM who departed was not replaced.

I assume he will be at the end of the season.

The reason the GM left know to the public?
it seemed to be odd timming and very quite. My outside spidy sense something was not right with the situation.

He posted a pic of his handgun on his public FB
With him sitting by a swimming pool. With some weird caption. I forget the rest of it but apparently he was crashing out

Would seem a safe assumption...other than the fact that VT basketball and
safe assumptions rarely coexist.

Whit likes to leave positions empty, so a safe assumption anywhere else is
a huge question at VT.

Hoops GM isn't a Whit hire.
The AD doesn't get down into the weeds like that. Unless it's men's basketball Chief of Staff, of course, but that's a special situation.
