Looking for info for an ACC tournament newbie…
Want to take my son down for a day or two. Which days are best?
Where is the best place to get tickets? Are the upper levels crap seats?
Other activities around the tourney for a 15 yo?

level and were fine. (We went through the ecstasy-agony-ecstasy cycle on the Erick Green and Derwin Kitchen shots at the end.)

Stuff.
Tickets for early days will be cheap on stub hub. There will also be brokers around the arena.
Never been in the upper level. I would imagine they are t too bad though as it’s not a mega arena.

but according to this it would be the third highest seating capacity of college basketball arenas at ~22,000 - bigger than Capital One Arena. For that size it has great sight lines to be as old as it is.
True, not much within walking distance - but if you like BBQ at least try Stameys across the street. Other small places to try that are within a few miles:
Hops Burger Bar - good burgers and pretty good rotating beer list - parking is a b*tch.
and for dessert - head down toward UNCG - Yum-Yums ice cream is an institution - they also have dive bar type boiled hot dogs that while far from fine dining :) - are also an institution - kinda like eating at a 1/10 scale Varsity in Atlanta - with an even more limited menu.
There will be tickets available for early games. Now 30+ years ago getting ACC tourney tickets in the Triad area was almost equivalent to scoring Masters tickets. Only one team was going to the NCAA.

And you can absolutely move to better seats because the early crowds will be smaller.
If you go day 2 or 3, you will see a lot of people leave after the first game and you can ask for their tix to get better seats. At least I’ve done that before.

Stub hub is reliable & affordable per session
this year any day should be good level 200 seats thru Row J or so are great IMO
GBO coliseum has great sightlines & parking
They usually have a little fan fest next to the entrance your kid might like
Stamey’s BBQ across street is a must between sessions if 2nd game of early session isn’t close I’d leave a little early & go there for dinner if you like BBQ
