If a big-time program offered Coach Young 4x his current salary
And 4x the NIL, would he take it? Would he take Lawal with him? Seems veteran coaches with solid experience are showing their value. Guys like Kelvin Sampson, Rick Barnes, Bruce Pearl are finding success while ACC coaches are retiring or getting fired. Remember when we thought Frank Beamer would never leave?

No. He and his wife don't need the extra money at this stage in life.

Agree. Most people as they age realize time and enjoyment are more
important than the almighty dollar. Mikes wife has made big bucks for years. He is where he wants to be doing what he wants to do right now.

Honestly I don’t think so, this is his retirement job
He has no financial need, he’d retire before leaving
chumley chumley
…better lock him down now with a fat extension

Would never happen. But sure, can’t imagine why he wouldn’t.

He and Mrs. CMY are set financially. Don't need or want a new headache wors
than the one he already is dealing with.

Lots of people who are “financially set” keep looking for more….
The examples are endless.

Heck, the current news cycle is dominated by people doing just that.
I wouldn't dare lump MY in with the 'aforementioned', though.

And lots of them don’t and those examples are endless. You just never hear
about them because they turn down offers. ** Edited by uber hokie at 3/16/2025, 8:27:32 AM

And most folks are not greedy. as you portray the Youngs.

Didn’t say anything about “greedy”…..
Who are you to say who is or is not “financially set”? That’s an individual decision. Even if a person believes they are set, an opportunity may come along that you just can’t pass up for one or another reason. I believe I’m financially set but if someone came along and offered me $8M a year to do something I like doing with a guaranteed contract and a big budget to ensure success, I’d probably take it. And I don’t think that’s “greedy” in the least. I further expect that “most” people agree with me.
