Possibly weird opinion, they should give half-steals and half-rebounds...
...the same way they give out half-sacks in football. If one player deflects a pass or taps out a reb so another guy catches it, they should get a half stat.

valid measurement to see what a player's impact is on the game.
I'd also like to see it a cumulative +/- over the season.

It’s a way to show player’s value beyond traditional stats

There are a few guys on this team which would have MUCH worse turnover stats than they do because they often dribble or rotate themselves into trouble with no apparent plan B and then toss it to somebody who is left with no choice but to have to make an impossible pass or escape or throw up a terrible shot.
Givre a half TO to they guy who created the problem and take away a half TO from the guy who was presented a no-win situation through little fault of his own.
Some of these guys have improved, but 1 or 2 haven't at all.
I realize this would be very subjective, but so are partial tackles. At the very least, I hope (and probably assume) the coaching staff does something like this.

I tip out a lot of rebounds in pickup basketball. sometimes it goes to my team, sometimes it doesn't. it's far more fluky than just who secures the rebound. the steal is a maybe for me since the person had to knock it away from the dribbler even if he didn't secure possession.
