Losing Aluma was big. Then Alleyne hit the transfer portal. We luckily convinced Mutts to return, which prevented the season from being a total disaster. But then basically our entire recruiting class got wiped out. Rodney Rice gets hurt preseason, returns for 1 game, gets hurt again, out for the season. Darren Buchanan and Patrick Wessler had to redshirt. The surprising bright spot has been MJ Collins, but now he's banged up too. We started out like a ball of fire this season and I convinced myself we were better than we actually are. Now we've reverted to where I thought/feared/suspected we would be. A more-or-less middle of the pack to lower-echelon ACC team. Kinda hoping we can pull it all together in 2023-24. Getting Brandon Rechsteiner to help at the point guard position will be huge and take some burden off of Pedulla, who's had to be an iron man this season. Hopefully Basile and Cattoor both return and we can finally get production out of Rice, Buchanan and Wessler. We're a year away, IMHO.
