If he couldn’t get it right with this roster, he was basically going to retire. Now a lot has not gone his way this season, so there’s no telling if he feels it’s his fault or not. (Losing Giltner, Neo hurt, Dorn a 4* that is unplayable, Lawal and Johnson injuries. Pasha a disappointment aswell.) I don’t believe it fully is, and definitely think he should coach 1 more year. Based on what I have heard, I don’t know how likely we are to keep Hammond, who has an aggressive agent and tech’s donors are now more cautious about giving so much to just one player (Neo). If the market calls for Hammonds money to be quadrupled, then I don’t think tech would pay him that much, though I’m sure another school would. I also think Hammond can fit almost any system you throw at him because he can create space with the ball and runs the break well. If guys portal and MY can’t keep the core together that he has developed into some damn good players, I think he will say the hell with it and move on 1 year early.
