I'd assume mbb was impacted by inflated NIL market just like football pre

House settlement. VT got hit hard by it lost key pieces to be any good this year. This year's squad is very young, perhaps MY playing a bit of the long game sacrificing W/L record in 2024-25 for better situation in 2025-26. Not like he had another choice. Yeah he could have taken all Sr. in portal of quality we could afford maybe win a handful more games. Still likely not even NIT team, so why not go young. He did similar approach pre-nil 1st season by getting high school guys to move up a class.
