I agree with you, but I'm not sure Coach Young does

His whole approach is to play at a slow tempo. Making the other team pay for pressing seems at odds with his approach, because it speeds up the game and allows the other team to dictate tempo. His approach to the press (not just this year, but earlier years as well) is for his guards (mainly the PG) to get the ball over the line in under 10 seconds, and then start the normal half-court offense.
