I think this is expected -- they have sort of phased out ESPN+ now.

Disney/ESPN recently added the $30 "ESPN Unlimited" subscription, where you can access all their TV content via the ESPN app without a separate cable/satellite/streaming TV subscription. When they did this, they also eliminated the separate ESPN+ branding and have rebranded the content as "ESPN Select". They also include all the ESPN Select content (formerly ESPN+) in the ESPN Unlimited package. I assume that as part of this change, they are now essentially offering full ESPN Unlimited access to TV subscribers with appropriate subscriptions. (Even before these changes, TV subscribers could watch games carried live on ESPN/ESPN2/ESPN-U on the ESPN app in addition to being able to watch on TV.) If this is correct, that would explain why you can access ESPN+ content now.
