Well, I stopped dreaming of being an NBA player when I was 14.
Yet I still enjoyed playing and I still practiced at the game. But I set my goals accordingly.
I'm not a cynic. I'm just not a message board cliche machine. "Development" is a message board cliche which accurately applies to very few - particularly in this era of college sports.
What I am saying is that in the real world, Wexler isn't going to the NBA. He's no longer a "project" and there is nothing more to develop. But he can absolutely still enjoy himself. I'm saying he should figure out what will make him happiest basketball-wise for the next two years and go in that direction. If he wants to play against high level competition, but play limited minutes...great. If he still wants to test himself but wants to play against somewhat lesser competition and maybe split time...great. If wants to be the man and decides to drop down in competition a couple of levels...great.
But if chooses to go somewhere because he thinks it will be best to "develop" his game, he's chasing fool's gold.

There's 3.9pts a game we'll never get back - 16 pts/avg gone today (total)
