It was made pretty clear within the athletic department that this past football season was critical for the football program and the athletic department. It was an opportunity that we hadn't had in awhile...a real chance to advance the program. That's how Whit viewed it. I wrote an article about it before last season, and somebody in the athletic department read it and told me "good article, that's exactly how Whit is viewing things." Well, then football failed and missed a massive opportunity, and basketball went 13-19, partly because of football. People could probably stomach the basketball issues if football had been good, but it wasn't. So it's gotten a lot of eyes on him. Most people just pay attention to results, and when results are poor they want to know why. So they start to examine it more closely, and then notice all of those other little things. Here's the article I wrote that described the situation at the time. Whit basically set his own expectations for this year and he shared those expectations with the powers that be. We came nowhere near matching those expectations. So he's very much in the crosshairs.
