They don't because they are making more than they are contributing
an NCAAT without P2 programs would not be worth crap and would mean less money for the A10, an NCAAT with fewer mid majors MIGHT lose a little revenue, but with less non-P2 conferences to divide the spoils, would make more for the P2 because they would get a larger share and the pie wouldn't be much smaller, if at all. IS that good for the long term health of the sport? Probably not, but it is good for the long term health of the P2 because they will be fine, maybe even better off, if they aren't sharing their loot with the 80% of college sports programs that are takers in the system.
No different than the fact that you don't hear Duke, Wake, BC, Syr or Looooville whining about the ACC, they are stealing from the other teams in the conference and they know it. Or the fact that every once in a while WNBA players start complaining about being paid scraps, but then sign their deal and get their scraps because their scraps are still more than they would be if the NBA wasn't subsidizing them.
You only think he's a insufferable a-hole because he is representing the interests of his employer and you despise his employer because they are playing the game better than everyone else. Dislike the game, fine, but his job is playing the game in the best interest of his employer and he does it very well, thus the reason so many hate him and his employer, but would join his conference in a second if offered the chance.
